Centre Street Jam

If you are looking for a fun way to spend your Thursday evenings, the Center Street Jam is already underway. Taking place in Downtown Goldsboro, this free after-hours summer concert series offers music, children’s activities, cold drinks and delicious food from local vendors. Upcoming performances include:

Center Street Jam will take place every Thursday from 6:00 pm till 9:00 pm, until August 11th. Participants are welcome to bring lawn chairs to relax while enjoying the live music.

Sprinkler Fun Days

Sponsored by Downtown Goldsboro, Sprinkler Fun Days provide residents with a fun way to beat the heat throughout the summer by playing in a giant sprinkler. Taking place every Thursday from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm, Sprinkler Fun Days is a free event supervised by the City of Goldsboro Fire Department. Sprinkler Fun Days will take place from June 9th through August 18th.

Taking place on June 3rd and 4th, the Shop the Block even provides you with the opportunity to support Goldsboro’s restaurants and retailers while enjoying big savings. Businesses participating in this year’s event include:

Cliffs of Neuse State Park

If nature is more of your interest, now is a great time to visit the Cliffs of Neuse State Park. Located in nearby Seven Springs, the Cliffs of Neuse State Park features hiking trails as well as opportunities for boating, swimming, fishing and picnicking. Park amenities include an 11-acre man-made lake featuring a sandy beach, a roped-off perimeter, a diving platform and a bathhouse. Boats are also available for rent, while a refreshment stand offers food for purchase. The park also features a picnic area with 30 picnic tables and 10 grills, while drinking water and restrooms are located nearby. A covered brick shelter within the park also offers twelve tables and two fireplaces.

Boating and swimming are available at the park from Memorial Day through Labor Day from 11:00 am until 6:45 pm. Swimming is only permitted when a lifeguard is on duty. A state fishing license is required for fishing on the Neuse River within the park.
