Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 10th! Here are a few things you might not have known about this special holiday…

1)    Mother’s Day is not always on the same date each year. It’s always the 2nd Sunday of May.

2)    More calls are made on Mother’s Day than any other day of the year. Around 122 million calls are made on this holiday.

3)    It’s the 3rd highest selling holiday for flowers & plants. Only Christmas & Hanukkah are to beat. 1/4th of all the flowers purchased throughout the year are bought for Mother’s Day.

4)    There are approximately 43.5 million moms in the U.S. These women are aged 15-50 & have collectively mothered 95.8 million children!

5)    The moniker ‘Mom’ comes from babies. The 1st thing a baby vocalizes is the ‘ma’ sound, which is why the word for mother begins with ‘M’ or is some iteration of the ‘ma’ sound in almost every language.
